Its so cute! It really looks like a little guy in a pointed hood with his arms up in the air lol (had to say it!). I havent heard of this aroid, I had to google him. So interesting!

It has a tuber and is dormant during the dry season (winter). But the leaves are extremely variable. These are some of the different shapes I've found growing locally.

A little more rounded/heart shaped.

These are a bit narrower with two lobes at the base of the leaf.

Narrow leaf blade with narrow lobes coming out at right angles near the bottom of the leaf blade.

Relatively narrow leaf blade with similar lobes directly down from bottom of leaf blade.

These are all Typhonium johnsonianum. There are a number of Typhonium species which do the same thing, so you can't tell which is which until you see the inflorescence. Aroids like to do this kind of thing.

I googled Hosta, apparently related to Asparagus. We don't get them here, I noticed we're not in the area recommended for growing them.

hostas need chill time..they're dormant in the winter..not for a tropical climate..we love them in colder zones..

The taller plants look like aroids.

I think so too..they're Krossa Regal hostas..
