Unfortunately, it looks similar to Kashmir White that I used in my last kitchen and had a horrible ordeal with. I don't think it's quite the same, but the coloring and properties look similar enough that I'd be wary about using it without knowing EXACTLY what it is and how it fares long-term. In any instance, you should view the actual slab that will be used as there is so much variation in the natural stones. I agree that while many use consistent names, I believe they can tweak the names. A rose by any any other name.... As Shead said it looks similar to Kashmir White and also I remember back when I was looking about 10 years ago, there was White Spring or White River. Even with the same name, some slabs can have a lot more of a color that you may like or not like. My advice would be that if you don't want to use their stone, definitely look around locally.

White Spring is a likely option. I will check out Kashmir. Thanks. No, I wouldn’t purchase anything without viewing the slab but I’m working long distance and trying to narrow down which yard sells what in that area before I make the long drive — followed by longer drives to the various yards.

Jeffrey, the reason Lowe’s gives their own names to stone is to create the marketing illusion that you cannot get it elsewhere, and to keep me from doing what I’m doing. There is no value to the consumer. A side note — I actually began shopping for quartz but I need a little reddish-brown in the stone which limits quartz options.

Looks similar to Dallas White, Alaska White or Exodus. I'd find a good fabricator and show them the picture to see if they have something similar.

Okay, shead. This question was informative for making me reread your old post and being reminded of Joe’s responses. I really, really don’t want granite. I have quartz, I love quartz, and I am just gonna have to find a quartz pattern that will work, or live with less than perfect form to get my function. Very sorry for your trouble. How is your countertop holding up?

I am pretty sure cambria would have a quartz you like. Lots of options other than black or white.

MizLizzie, it darkened again after I poulticed it and resealed it. Then we decided to sell and the new owners are none the wiser on what the original color was so they are happy with it ;) In our upcoming addition/remodel, I definitely plan to use quartz!
