Is this a Design TABOO? Two-toned curtains, Sheer top & solid bottom

So I purchased these white outdoor curtains and they are pretty sheer.

My patio is a lot taller and my plan is to make two-toned curtains by adding another material at the bottom in a pattern/color that I can go with my cushions. Plus, with the bottoms not white, the floor won't get the drapes so dirty.

Sheer curtain's are 108".
Measured my curtains to be 130" tall

Is it wrong for the top of the curtains to be sheer white, and the bottom 2 feet to be solid outdoor fabric?
Will that look really unsual?
REALLY NEED HELP!
SEND PIX IF POSSIBLE!
I actually don't mind the sheer, but finding another sheer fabric in a print will be harder

    I think it looks lovely also. May I suggest running an approx 2" piece of the material up/down each side of the
    panels will enhance it's appearance.

      I like the idea of a 2 tone and with practical reasons attached. Choosing a different material will also weigh the sheers down. Neater overall look. Pls post photos after you complete!

      Yes i agree the heavier fabric will help keep fabric from flying. Thanks for the response, still confused on what route to go... If i add 20" to the bottom would that cut off the drapes from looking long? Once I put them up I will surely share the final results. This is what the patio looks like now. Ignore chair seats, they will be different

      I would also sew in some weights in the bottom hem if your patio is as windy as ours is.

      This is what it looks like right now. Sheer curtains that are short by 18". Really need suggestions on what to put underneath. I was thinking of doing a two-toned curtain and putting a solid.

      Would an opaque fabric at the bottom go with sheer curtains on the top?

      Yes, definitely add to the bottom, Another tip, add a weighted bead chain in the hem to help weigh it down instead of individual weights. I've also known people to get the chain by the foot at box stores and encase it into the hem if you have really windy areas.

      Love the idea of adding fabric at the bottom of panels. You could also add the same fabric to the top of the panel (and the bottom) and have a rod pocket panel instead of the grommets.

      Two tone would be great, add weights to the bottom of them, you can add fishing sinkers in the hem, these are inexpensive and will not hinder the look of the sheer or curtain.

      Currently seat cushions are all ivory, so my plan was to bring a splash of color like navy blue, orange and yellow on cushions and accessories

      I think your candlestick and decanter would look good on the table, is that the plan? Or did you decide you don't like them on it? I see a taller candlestick on the floor in an earlier picture, do they go together? This is an interesting little porch area, I'd love to see the whole house layout. Are there glass sliders on both sides, then an entrance door at the other end? Just curious. :-)

      Vacox, yes it's a hookah, not candle sticks :). And you're right those are glass sliding doors on both sides of the house, with the main patio door in the middle.
