Hmm, one wonders if it's taken this long because of mostly, well lack of growing experience at all by the astronauts. I wouldn't say that's the healthiest zinnia I've ever seen.

I am not sure that picture is of the first flower in space. But if not the first, a Zinnia is one of the first.

China just announced their probe on backside of the moon has sprouted cotton seeds. Doubt it will ever get to bloom size, but cotton has a really nice flower.
