This is when you refer to your inspiration pictures in your ideabook! :) Do you have a favourite of those pics? Let it guide you. You have a very spacious bedroom and pretty much a blank slate. Have you set your budget? If I were you, I'd figure out my window treatment early on because it can get expensive with non-standard windows (especially if you need a blackout solution). Then plan for a rug (bigger than your current), bedding, storage (?) and decor.

ETA: And lighting! Do you use your fan? Perhaps you'd rather have a striking pendant there?

Thank you Irene. So, what you are saying is just one rod to go across the windows and the doors? That is a great idea! I have to look up some silk or other such fabric curtains.

Thank you Tartenmeup!! All great ideas, starting with window treatments is a fantastic idea the current ones are so restricting with what I can play with. They are from the previous owners and although very pretty, they are very hard to work with

I don't understand your color scheme ...it's all over the place to me .. Orange / red cover ..heavy flower print on the Windows ..and striped curtains ..figure out what color scheme you like for a plush bedroom ...look at HOUZZ bedroom ideas ...they have many .
But if you like plush ...in my mind that calls for gold silk curtains ...and colors that go with that ...all neutral elegant ...from black to whites .... Lush blankets or duvet covers ...beautiful chandelier ...perhaps a bench at the foot of the bed ...with a table and two chairs ...you have so much room ...make it into a room fit for a king ..or queen !

Keep the roller shades and develop a color scheme from that fabric. No bed skirt.

Hi Felizlady- I don’t want to keep them cause they are very hard to pull up and down which discourages us from rolling them up to enjoy natural light.

I think doing shades for the french doors would look neater

maybe in the future you can replace that arch window w/a transom

if you want drapes, remove the blinds from the door and try something like this.

Hi- It’s basket weave and I am very confused about the curtains right now. I am still conflicted if I should just get plain curtains to be safe, like the silk variety in oatmeal. I do like this curtain as well, it is textured and I guess because of the multiple things going on in our room it’s hard to really appreciate them.

Hi Beth- I am definitely getting rid of the roller shades, they are not user friendly at all. So, I am assuming the curtain I picked out today is not really a hit? That said, it has to be a thick fabric as this is an east facing room so it should block some light

Room is large - would you like something "large scale" as they call this? I think it's cool, and might work with current paint.

Interesting choice, but I think I want to stay away from patterns right now. I am looking for something modern and soft which is soothing and more of a sanctuary of some sort
