Detergent for darks for sensitive skin??

Is there such a thing as a detergent for darks that works well for those with sensitive skin (similar to Miele sensitive skin detergent — meant for whites, or All Free and Clear)? I have been using Charlie’s Soap for darks, but have recently read that its main ingredient, sodium carbonate?, can cause fading in dark clothing.

Thank you doreycrouse. Is it powder or liquid?

The PurClean I have is liquid. I love it, bu a little bit goes a long way in my FL. I never fill above the 1 mark in the measuring cap.

I use the All Free and Clear with a tablespoon of STTP. My husband has sensitive skin and his clothes can be downright grubby. This combo works well for me in slightly hard well water.

I can't use Tide Pur..way to sudsy for me.

Elizabeth like you I often use ALL Free (powder) or Tide F&G powder with STPP, works great even on grungy clothing. I prefer to premix my detergent and STPP and store in big air tight containers. 1 part STPP to 2 Parts detergent (powder only). Just yesterday I mixed 15 pounds Tide original (Sams club box) with about 7 pounds of STPP in a 5 gallon bucket. I have to do my Cheer, and ALL Free yet, maybe today.

Would STPP lose its effectiveness if you first dissolved it in water, then pre-mixed it with liquid detergent for future use?

Cj, yes you can not get stpp wet until your ready to use it.

Eta...stpp needs to be kept dry in air tight containers.

I just bought Puracy Fragrance Free for my husband to use on his darks. He is super sensitive to fragrance so I’m hoping this will do the trick. Haven’t had a chance to open it yet. I’ll post back when I do.

    Here are the ingredients,

Annette if the Puracy doesn't work as well as you would like...add STPP to it. Have you ever used STPP in the wash?

I like Persil for sensitive skin.

Mamapinky, I have STPP that I bought to put in the dishwasher. I don’t think I’ve used it in the laundry. Since you’re not supposed to mix powder in with a liquid would I just put it in the drum? I thought I read in the Electrolux manual not to put products in the drum but I’m guessing they didnt think about STPP.

I put my STPP in the drum. I can't advise with your washer, someone else will but I can't see any reason not to...I would put it on top of the clothing if it was me. STPP makes a world of difference in cleaning, and rinsing.

The Persil for Sensitive skin is now heavily scented. It used to be my go to but all Persil (Euro Persil made by Henkels in Germany), not have extreme scents in them. I will pick up a box of Miele Sensitive to see if it is still unscented. I can't understand why a sensitive product should have scent in it at all. Henkels Black magic was my go to for a long time and I just ran out of the old formula. I can't even have the formula in my home, it is that heavily scented. I will pick up a bottle of Common Good unscented detergent to see if sudsing is an issue with that brand in my Mieles.

    Good luck!

Persil sensitive USA is still scent free.

P&G still makes Cheer Free & Gentle. I'd also suggest Tide Purclean Free since it's free of optical brighteners.
