Theresa, I think we all know what you're feeling but good for you for doing some, what I call, mindless sewing. I happened onto a blog the other day that talked about keeping track of how many blocks we make on a daily basis so when we look back on the week, it really wasn't a total loss. Last year 80 people made 36,309 blocks at this site. I have signed up to report how many blocks I make each month. You're not alone, Theresa. I'm having an awful time forcing myself to work on this quilt. I think it's because I've been a little depressed and anxious about some health issues with some family members. I hope this passes soon, I hate it. Life is too short to be so unhappy. This hobby should be making me happy. And what's so bad is I have SO MUCH FABRIC to work with and I could make so many quilts with it! Lois you have a valid excuse with what's going on in your life but with me now that the Holidays are done I have absolutely no excuse.

Oh,Rita, I hope things get better for you soon. Ordinary blahs, usually weather related, are hard enough but when you add in other factors like health worries, it takes a toll. maybe just a block a day, no pressure, no deadline. That is what I am trying to do. Stay strong!

Yes, I have the blahs, but for different reasons. I’ve been trying to finish a top for my niece for three weeks, very slow going. In November we lost one of our little dogs and just yesterday, we had to put down her litter mate. Baxter had congestive heart failure, but was doing great on meds until ten days ago, then he got progressively weaker and had other issues. It was the right thing to do for him and us, but we went from having the companionship of two dogs to none...feels empty around here.

Ok so I’m a dog mom....I know this is a quilting forum, but golly gee..I think this is one of the better pics of our pups, the pic is two years old. They were very sweet tempered dogs and we miss them.

As for sewing...I hope to jump back in this weekend, it will be a pleasant and productive distraction in an all too quiet house.

Time to sew on.....

My little Maya is 10 years old now, She is starting to move a bit slower at times, but she is my constant companion in my sewing room. She usually sits next to me on her little bed while quilt. She's a chug.

I'm so sorry, Val. They do leave a very large hole in the heart when they are gone.
