First choice #1; second choice #3. You could also use the subway tile in different configurations, stacked either horizontally or vertically, for a more contemporary look. Without seeing your cabinets it is hard to tell, but your first two tile options look more contemporary.

Hi there, Its too bad we could not see the cudboards, but we would pick #3 - white subway tiles. Your countertop is beautiful and you don't need a lot of pattern competing with it. We are posting a couple of pics. just to give you a alternative way to compliment your countertop, just another way of looking at it. Good luck picking, we are sure it will look great, whatever you pick.

Definitely #2 brings out the different shades and colors in the counter top, and if the cupboards are a simple white or black, then it would all tie in nicely. If #2 is too bold then, #1.
#3 seems a bit too old school/bathroom style.

What colour are the cabinets? Floor? Walls? Impossible to advise without these details!

This is one time I think all are good looking. I would be thinking about grout though.

We have the same countertop. We found it challenging to decide on backsplash. We chose the following (found at Lowes.com) : item #485394. Model #GLSMANCAS28G. It really looks classy, not super trendy, & brings out the creamy, pale yellow. I am not a fan of gold & yellow, but in this case, I DO!

#3 is best choice; and I agree with Cure Design Group to pull in a darker grout to anchor the tile to your countertop. This is a very classy, timeless design and you won't be sorry down the road when mosaic lose their favor.

Would have to see the rest of your kitchen, but I do like the simplicity of the subway tile.

Actually I'm the OP and I'm still here! Even though the original post is a year old I still enjoy reading all the suggestions. Funny thing though, I still get mixed opinions and all 3 have likes. I originally went with tile 1, the white glass. It's been one year and I started to hate it after about 3 months. So I have removed it. Right now I have a simple stainless steel backsplash bought at Lowes that was a super easy peel and stick. It wasn't costly, I did it myself and it will work until I fully decide because I want the third time to be the final time!!! I am sort of wishing I had gone with the subway tile but I've gotten a little turned off when people refer to it as bathroom tile, that's a pretty disgusting thought for my kitchen.

Hi again, sorry you are still having trouble picking your backsplash. Your countertop looks like it's black with brown or taupe. You said you wished you had picked the subway tile but you still seem unsure, maybe it's the white and the bathroom thing. Why not try picking the taupe shade not too dark, that will compliment your countertop and use 3 x 12 subway tiles or even larger ones. There will be less grout involved, which is alway a good thing and it will look more updated from the small tiles. You never know, getting away from the white might work for you, if it's this hard with these 3 tiles just scrap them and try a different direction. Have fun with it and it will all work out.

The granite does not have brown, I wanted to stay away from that, but there is taupe and grays. I am intrigued with the idea of taupe and using the bigger tiles, I think the original backsplash was too busy and I tired of it super fast. I'm going to search out some taupe subway.

Hi Kayanee, I'm glad you are trying a different look, I know you want the perfect backsplash to finish your kitchen and it has to be something you will love for a long time, we've all been there so keep looking. I didn't realize there was grey, you might check that out while your at it maybe a soft grey would be good, you never know. P.S. whatever you pick try to keep your grout to the shade of your tile so it won't look too busy.

Go with #1 or #2. The second one incorporates the counter more, and the first one looks great as well. The last one looks pretty old fashioned and doesn't fit with the style well.
