i'm not sure what you mean by "pull down option" but this looks like my microwave which is a drawer. there are two ways to open and close it.
i prefer the drawer to the other kinds. i think some other manufacturers are making drawers now too, but i have a Sharp. there is no turntable (yaaay)
you can fit in a large cake pan.

This looks like the Sharp microwave drawer. I have one and love it. It doesn't take up valuable counter space, is convenient to use...

My understanding is that Sharp manufactures all of the microwave drawers in the US market, but repackages them for other brands with different (better) styling and (higher) pricing. This means that they will all perform the same, and you are paying for the aesthetics. Here are links to the Sharp and Dacor versions:

We just recently completed a long-overdue kitchen remodel, added an island w/cooktop and I lobbied hard for the Sharp drawer. It is a breeze to use, not much 'bending' as others have worried about, easier to keep clean than I envisioned (even the inside 'roof'); and pretty much anything we've needed to place in there has worked out just fine. No spills either - you have to be as careful as you would be when removing hot liquids, but it's really not much different than a standard counter or over-range model. For those who worry about small children playing, there is a lock feature. No steam burns when opening, as you cannot stand at the counter in front of it - you have to allow the room for the drawer to open, so standing either to the side or farther back in front. The biggest difference is the space savings for countertop real estate - my goal was to eliminate as much counter clutter as possible, and the microwave was included.

@mom23girls, it is not a pull down like an oven - it is a gliding open/close, straight out. You can either use the control button for open or close, or with a slight tug to the handle (or a little push when you're done), the drawer opens like.....a drawer.

If I attached a picture correctly, although a little dark, you can see the microwave at the end of our island. There is enough room for the microwave to be fully open (it's opposite our fridge), for the freezer to be fully open, and for a person to still fit between the two.

We hope this appliance remains as favorite in the long haul as it is so far.
