I would go with a super simple style of backsplash tile because the counters are pretty busy. Subway tile, perhaps in a larger format would be best. Also, can't tell if it's your undercab lighting or the color of the counter itself, but my monitor renders the counter with a decidedly yellow-greenish undertone. The gray/white tile you've selected doesn't work, IMO.

Take a counter sample with you to the tile store to make sure you're finding the right colors.

Way too cool and busy for your new counters. Don't pick paint without coordinating with these finishes. Why not keep cabinets wood finish?

I like Beverlys idea of keeping cherry. Goes well with the granite and the floor

The cherry is nice. I would pick the lightest shade on the granite for the backsplash. Simple with no pattern.

I probably wouldn't choose the arabesque here, but it was easiest to install. I just wanted to show you colors. A white splash:

If you choose anything but the simple of backsplashes (subway tile) in some sort of light cream (which should absolutely relate to the creamy light color in your granite/floor, it will look amateurish and very much like you did it yourself instead of having a designer's influence. Also, please don't paint cabinets bright white, they should relate to a light color in your granite/floors too.

Paint the cabinets before you decide on back splash material. Instead of white consider a light taupe drawn from the granite.

You could also leave the bottom cabinets as they are since they work with the floor.

My vote is for your second inspiration pic with the darker island and cream cabinets. Would look great with your cabinets as they have a lot of detail and blend with floor and granite. I’d be afraid of the “primer“ look as mentioned above. Be careful to not update the kitchen to what you think a buyer might want. (I.e white cabinets and gray walls like everyone on here) What does your house want??

I would wait for the splash until after your cabinets are all done. so much easier to pick something when you have all your colors done and in place. just wait.

or maybe a two tone look? Instead of doing uppers and lowers as a two tone, some pick an actual side of the kitchen and do that in one color. For example, you could do the island and the bank of cabs on the stove side in all one color, and do the white for all the rest.

I asked because it seems to work with your floor color in the picture that shows the hall. Maybe look for something close to that but lighter.

Now that you've done the backsplash I think you must choose a color other than white for the cabinets.

I did not mind the wood tone cabinets but I have to say that to me the kitchen now has a calmer look. I thought your husband wanted white cabinets, how does he like it now?
