2nd bag unfortunately I have to throw 1 away since someone wrapped up a bag and stuck it in a corner and it molded before I found it. I have picked 3 other bags.

DG yes that is yamms and I got about 15 more to dig. Thanks for the tip on the peas. I already found a way to use them. I took them in to a empty lot and spread them all around in hopes of having a pigeon pea forest growing over there soon.

A pigeon pea forest sounds wonderful! I have two small ones that came up last year that are growing well now. I'm going to plant some seeds in other places soon.

Glenn, our young peach tree looks exactly like yours. It's a UF Best and been in the ground only a year or so. Within the last 3 weeks it has sprung out three dozen + gorgeous small pink/white flowers as well as an almost equal # of small green leaves, - a sure sign that spring is a-commin' soon ! :o)

Jofus I hope your peach does good. It's a real treat to have fresh off the tree peaches and I tend to have mine before any make it to the stores :)

Congrats Glenn! It is wonderful to enjoy any harvest from the garden. That reminds me to plant some pole beans soon....

Hmmm, just went out and took a close-up view of the peach tree and discovered it now has dozens of small peaches actually popping out all over, a few the size of marbles. Must remind myself to keep a closer eye on this guy ! We will now be placing a 1/2 " mesh size net over that tree, to ward off the frenetic bird attacks which I know will be just around the corner. Where I live here on the SW Florida coast, it is definitely bird country ! That is putting it mildly, you name the bird type, we have it here ! ( Including big vultures and humongous bald eagles,..a brief nose-to-nose skirmish between those guys just occurred on the street outside yesterday that left me speechless,..until now ! LOL For another post someday...perhaps ! )

I love all birds, - only rarely getting a bit annoyed,..like whenever I have a peach tree that is fruiting :o) Recall vividly the constant bird attacks on the two peach trees I had 8 yrs ago that caused me much grief resulting in me digging up both and selling at discount prices. LOL. Am curious Glenn, do you have the same concern where you live ?

Jofus, generally speaking the birds are occupied with my mulberries and leave everything else alone. I have had very little problems with my peach.

Silvia thank you. I already planted some green beans and I have been getting a good amount of those black limas you gave me. The young pods are great in stir fry and I will have some to replant thanks.
