Engineered Hardwood Flooring Brands - Oak

Hello Houzz experts!

I'd appreciate some input. I'm looking for brand recommendations for engineered hardwood flooring with a durable, polyurethane finish I don't want an oil or wax finish because I want something that is highly durable and maintenance free. Does anyone have any brand recommendations that are high quality? I like the color of the floor in this office. It's a bleached white oak. 10" planks preferred. Thanks in advance!!! - Jessica

We are going with Hallmark Alta Vista Collection. I have been doing a ton of research and looking at many pictures and it seems as though every floor I love is Hallmark. :)

Check out Hurst Hardwoods. They seems to have a lot of great options for wide plank flooring that doesn't break the bank. I am thinking about getting 8" solid white oak flooring from them. They do long lengths too which I think is key.-=

Missi Smith- the Alta vista is my first choice as well! I researched the heck out of it and it's definitely what we will be going with!

@missi smith @jazz lover I was going to go with the Laguna by Hallmark (Alta Vista line), but according to Hallmark's maintenance manual the floor is supposed to be oiled 4X a year. I unfortunately don't have time for that kind of maintenance. Oil finishes are far less durable than polyurethane finishes. I've read that the Alta Vista marks easily if something is dropped on it an not wiped up quickly. Have you read anything about this? I'm wondering if I'm being overly cautious?

Missi- Malibu has been my fav so far but Del Mar is not ruled out. We are still in design stage with an architect but I've been doing my research so we'll see what's available when the time comes. Good luck and I'll follow to see what you wind up with!

Jessica Kenyon Studio, LLC , its not just that particular oiled finish that has the issue you describe. If you look up the others they also have similar complaints. Oiled is great if you have time to re oil every year and like being able to touch up spots that get damaged. Its a real benefit for some homeowners. For others though its a pain and keeps them from just enjoying the floors.

Jessica Kenyon Studio, LLC , the above floor fits what you look for well if you like the color. It is finished with a matte lacquer. The surface is wire brushed European White Oak with 3 mm wear layer. Personally I like oil finish more for wider plank floors.
