It is a little hard to tell, but what if you: 1) replaced the wire shelving by the door into the kitchen with a white cubbie unit oriented facing the garage door. One for each person, and if you have a pet, put their supplies in the top one. Backpacks, bags, etc. go in there. 2) Have big shoe basket beside the garage door. These are hopeless to organize neatly, so you may have to settle for "corral". Let them dig for their own. 3) On the double hanger wire shelf, use the top rack to hang clean clothes, the bottom for coats/jackets 4) On the counter to the right of the sink, put two rectangular white laundry baskets to use in combination with the roll around canvas cart underneath for sorting. You might consider getting the largest roll around cart that will fit beside the washer without a top on it. You can pile it higher, unfortunately. Make some laminated signs to attach to each sort bin.This would allow all the sorting opportunities to be open for the kids to do when they bring the bags down. White, color, black, jeans, towels, other-I-am-not-sure-Mom-you-decide. Bags go back to the room when they are done sorting. 5) Take anything that doesn't relate to laundry/daily home function and store it in the garage. Best of luck to you!
