What's staying and what are you buying new?

To start I'd get a new console for under the TV, something longer. The TV needs to be lowered a bit too, it's too high. Whatever color you decide for the wall paint that cord strip the same.

I'd also replace the fans with regular lights or with new white fans that disappear into the ceiling. A rug and coffee table will help ground the room.

I don’t think you need an accent wall. A new console under the tv (wider and more substantial) will help, as will lowering the tv (or get a taller console.....there is too much of a gap between the two right now). For paint, I would go with a light beige or warm greige. Something like BM pale oak, or SW accessible beige.

Lowes, target, Walmart any big box store really has a good selection of rugs that won't cost an arm and a leg. I think you need one about 8'x10' but 5'x7' is easy to find and a lot cheaper. you want it at least as wide as your longest couch and really only need the front legs of the furniture on it. A rug will help tie everything together even if you go with a different color. having a little more of the color of the bird cage would be good

If you want advice on furniture and placement, can you hand-draw a layout of your room with the length of the walls, and the size and position of doors and windows. And tell us where the doors lead to.

Also a photo of all 4 "walls" of the room, even if the walls are a window, or another room. Stand in the middle of each wall or opening, and take a picture of the whole opposite wall(s), not just part of it. It looks like your room is open to another one opposite the TV (kitchen?) so that would affect the recommendations for color and room arrangement.

Are all the plants staying? How many people do you need seating for? Would you be open to the idea of putting the TV on the wall where the picture is now, or do you want to be able to see it from the other room (kitchen)?

If you're going to buy new seating, you need to have that decided before you get a rug. Plan everything out at once so you don't end up with something you've bought, then the next thing you need to buy doesn't go with it. There's often less selection with upholstered furniture especially if you're not going the expensive custom route, so I'd choose sofas and chairs first, then a rug, then drapes, and paint last.

All 4 walls with dimensions, window and door locations do give you the best chance of getting good advice. But I suggest you stand in each corner taking a picture of the opposite corner. Each picture then shows 2 walls and gives us a better idea how it all goes together. She said the tv, couch and floor are staying so my suggestion was working with what she had and showed.

Get a long, low console for under the TV in white or a wood that harmonizes with your floor--the wider the better. Put your TV on or over that with art work around it. This idea:

Is that a leather ottoman or a chaise on the couch? If it's an ottoman, get an oversized tray in an accent color and use the ottoman as a coffee table. If it's a chaise, then get nesting tables you can pull out, up on legs to balance out all that dark leather.
