Is it in the ground or in a pot? They are usually pretty drought tolerant. So it could be too much water.

Too much or too little water, likely. They are annuals, so if they've been alive all winter, they may just be dying back.

Ipomoea (morning glory): for me they were problematic even when I finally got some purchased seeds to sprout and grow. They didn't keep blooming when heat set in.

I would invest in a jacquemontia if I saw one for sale in person. (Mexican sunflower vine is another I want to buy... it didn't live beyond 2 years for me, but was delightful.)

Irma, I was also disappointed in the morning glories not blooming in heat here. I remember fields and trees full of wild morning glories in SC blooming all summer long. Mine last year died as soon as the temps hit the high 80s. SC is just as hot and humid in the summer. I just don't understand.

I'm also looking for some of the wild Merremia dissecta that grows everywhere. There is some growing down the road on some vacant property, but while it bloomed this winter, it didn't set seeds. Sort of hoping it doesn't get mowed down, because I'd love some seeds. I know it's considered an invasive (cousin to wood rose) but it blooms during the day adn stays open all day, unlike regular morning glories. I love morning glories, but I want some vines that bloom all day long.

On the east coast, I think Meadow Beauty in Lake Worth often has Jacquemontia for sale.

Forgot to say that while it's native to extreme southern FL, it grows very happily even up near me, in Stuart, if not too far inland.

Tried growing Morning Glory in morning sun, but, after some substantial growth, the leaves started dying. When I dug up the plant, the obvious problem was root knot nematodes.

cgbunnell, that's why I try to grow the natives ones. They seem to do better with the nematodes.
