Both the sink and the box appear to be the same tan color. If you painted the back wall that color, they would disappear into the background. The sink needs a good cleaning or replacement.

How much space do you have where the laundry sink is?

Do you think you want a deep sink? Really don't need one for the washer drain since the washer doesn't drain into the sink.

One possibility would be to get a new sink base cabinet and a new stainless steel, etc. sink. A section of pre-fab laminate counter from the big box and a drop-in (top mount) sink or a stone remnant and a new under-mount sink.

I agree, replace the sink.

Do a countertop with a cutout to access hook ups.

Put some hooks on the underside of upper cabinets and then get some clamp pants hangers and then put some artwork in them and hang across that space to block the view. Then you can still get to the the plug or hookups if needed.

This pic shows the hangers attached to the wall, but I’d hang from the cabinets. That way you can pull them an inch or so off the wall to not interfere with cords and hoses.

Thank you!!! The picture of the counter top with the cut out is really helpful. I was thinking about using an antique door for the counter. We do need a deep sink as we use it a great deal for cleaning up after painting and/or yard work, spot cleaning clothes and pet care, to name a few. Clamp hangers are also a great idea! I need to be mindful of our budget and the ideas so far do not seem to be too outrageous.

We had all the same problems. Pedestals were out of the question because that's my only folding space. We put a countertop right on top of two shop-floor puzzle-mats. No framing. We have had absolutely no problem with it. We hired professionals to lower the lines below the appliances. The electrician discovered the 220 line was undersized and hazardous. We now have an extra outlet behind the washer to plug in not only the washer, but the undercabinet lighting, leaving an open outlet above. [Our recent laundry room update. Katrina, what sink did you use in your laundry room makeover? I really want to get rid of the huge sink in my laundry that is open underneath and put in something like yours.

I did lots of research before finding the sink. It is AmericanSink a/k/a Lenova SS-LA-01. 12" deep. Top or undermount. We got it directly from the company, ebay seller kitchenbath4u. They are in the Chicago area. Astoundingly low price, great quality. We are very happy with it.

Topmount important tip: Plan to have countertop under the faucet area of the sink so the faucet goes through both sink and countertop for stability.
