I have a clean slate to finish my basement. I have two steel poles in the middle that are not going anywhere. I have a furnace room I need to add with an adjacent bathroom. The proposed bathroom area has a small window and I dont have any other alternative but to put the shower along that wall. I want originally thinking of bringing the bathroom out 10' 7" to run alongside furnace room and make the poles less noticeable. However, it will make the bathroom too big for a smaller sized basement and take away from valuable space. Will it look awkward to make the bathroom smaller and leave the poll visible? Need help with how to space these rooms.
