I am renovating our 1965 master bathroom, pictured below. My husband and I are in our 60s and planning to stay in our home as long as possible. Here is where I am in my thinking so far, I welcome any comments or suggestions!

VANITY ORDERED:: 48" Interlude cherry with driftwood finish by Bertch, Carrara marble top, one undermount rectangle sink (haven't had luck posting link to this vanity). Downsizing from current 67" so gaining a little space.

Shower will replace tub, prefer shower curtain to glass. Considering a white matte finish tile, 4x20. From reading on this forum I was thinking I'd go with a Kohler cast iron pan, but my contractor says curb is too low and I would have to go with tile shower floor if I choose this.

Bathroom flooring: Marmoleum, Volcanic Ash

Q: is there another kind of cast iron pan with a higher curb, or can you create a curb and tile over it?

Q: Shower floor tile instead? Looks like people suggest 1 or 2-inch tile for shower floor. Safety is our biggest concern. If I do have to do tile, suggestions that would be compatible with white shower tiles and the Volcanic Ash flooring?

Q. Bathroom flooring: Marmoleum, Volcanic Ash. With downsized vanity, there would be room to move toilet over a bit to give us a slightly bigger shower. I do not have an estimate yet on what that might cost, but could be expensive? Is it worth the trouble?

Q. Window in shower: keep size as is, and replace with better window than this original aluminum one? Any reason to consider a different style of window, different opening, what material should the frame be? Window looks out on neighbor's house but not really at an angle where anyone can see in
