Will pineapple sage come back?

I grow pineapple sage in a big pot each year. The year before last I pulled it up after winter. This year, I left the tall stalks, hoping it might possibly come back in the spring.

It’s taking up valuable space where where I could plant a new one, but I don’t want to pull it if it has a chance of regrowing. It has definitely frozen here, in central NC. However, my camellias, which usually end up with frozen burnt buds, are prolific and spectacular this year. So something about the winter was favorable, at least to the camellias. And my B&B salvias (also grown in pots), are already sprouting, and they usually don’t come up until May.

Anyway, does my pineapple sage have a chance or is it dead?
