Well, the people at the estate sale where I bought a mid-century modern vintage dining table for a friend TOLD me the finish was a "teak finish" even though it is mahogany not teak.

I should have asked what that meant!

Now I am left with my assumption that the table was finished with teak oil, as much teak furniture has been. The table has that lovely velvet matte look that lots of luscious teak tables have.

My question is -- how my friend should be caring for the table? Must she use teak oil? Or would other products work for remoisturizing it? It's a very plain contemporary/modern style but getting old now and probably a bit ignored in recent years, so very likely a bit dry.
