Ah yes, just in from my morning inspection of the 25 + ft Edith Bogue Southern Magnolia tree on our front lawn,...shaded over a tad towards the screened in lanai entrance door ! :o) That's where I spend most of my time these days, ( especially with The Masters on most of the daylight hours ), before starting my twice weekly walks over to our olympic sized swimming pool !

Hadn't given this majestic tree a close-up lately ( sorry Mam ). But Had a feeling,..a far away glimpse,...a whisper of a faint aroma on occasion,.. however that it was " Magnolia Time " here in zone 10a on Florida's SW coast !

Sure as shootin', as we used to say in NYC,...there they were ! Four of the most robust, gorgeous and healthy large white flowers putting forth the first ( hereabouts anyway ) hypnotical scent that only a Magnolia can generate !

The diffused aroma followed me as I walked back inside my lanai !

And so coincidentally,.. all this occurred just before the start of the second round of the Masters Golf Tournament up in Augusta, Georgia. On that course my favorite hole is the fifth, a moderately difficult ( for Tiger & his pals ) par 4. Why is it my favorite ? It is named Magnolialane !!!

So I sensed and saw the cool as my tree start bursting out with the damnest aromatic blossome God ever created,....BEFORE THIS THIRD ROUND EVER STARTED !!!

How's that for timing ?
