I love that combo. I would go for it.

Navy is good...but those who get it don't give much feedback. I have a dark green vanity in a bath..it's a good finish/I keep it up but it is quick to show smudges/ drips/etc. How does the NAVY REALLY work out in day to day life in a kitchen? A kitchen isn't for show..

Two toned kitchens, while not the most popular, have been around for a while. Either you like this look, or you don't.

I like Lil' idea of going navy for the island if indeed you have room for one.

If you want "forever" do it on the island. If brave? Do the whole thing. I hate light upper and dark lowers. Cut the kitchen in half. Literally. And your lowers tend to get more drips and splatters and DUST than any upper ever would.

Where I love the dark MOST? In a butlers pantry, adjoining a classic white kitchen. : ) FAB u lous.

I would only use navy if that color also flows into your adjoining rooms. The kitchen color shouldn't be completely disconnected from the rest of your house. What colors are in your family room? I would choose a color for the lower cabinets that works with your house - maybe navy, but also consider sage green, stained wood, dark taupe, etc. depending of course on your other finishes.
