I have someone here who can help. Here's their advice: I recently replaced the Briggs with a predator 6.5 horse. The shaft size of engine worked fine. Just check your shaft diameter. The key-way should also be the same. There is probably a 1" spacer behind the pulley. Make sure it is the same if you change it out. It is standard so it is easy to find. There are only 4 bolts holding engine on. The predator motor was relatively inexpensive. It also does away with the need for throttle cables and such. Make sure the pulley is lined up with lower pulley. It was less than an hour and only used 4 tools. They made their tillers easy to work on. I hope this will help.

Thank you, will this still let me run the tiller in reverse? I have a second pulley that is attached to the engine that lets me have a reverse.

I apologize that I didn't post the second part properly. What Ive told you so far is what I have done to mine. I know it is suppose to have a reverse. I will hunt up my manual and see if I can answer you.You could go to their website and down load a pdf. of the tiller. If I can find my manual I will post in the morning what I have found. Wish I could be more help. I got this second hand and have been so used to using it I didn't repair the reverse. Thank you.
