We had decomposed granite with stabilizer installed on top of road base this winter...and then it rained longer than southern California has ever seen. It was literally installed right before the first onslaught and was completely soupy/mushy for about 6 weeks. We live on a slope, although the portion we installed it on is flat, but there was drainage over the edge of the area.

It's now gone w/o rain long enough & has hardened beautifully so we thought we'd reached the end of the saga, until my son watered a flower pot & water splashed on it for about 30 seconds & it became soft & mushy again. Did all the stabilizer wash away? Any tips to remedy this would be very welcome. The only year it ever rains - our timing is impeccable:).
