At this point you might as well go for it!

Fun room! Do you need curtains to darken the room? If not, I wouldn't put any at all. Do the light sabers light up?

They are black out curtains, it would give it more of a movie room feel we think.

I think you have enough darkness in the space, and the blinds should block enough light without them.

    This.

I like the room as it is. It has personality, but MORE darkness would overwhelm the room ... plus, unless my monitor deceives me, the sofas are black and the curtains are blue; I don't like the mismatch.

The couches and wood are brown but do appear more black in the picture. The blinds are closed in this picture and this much light still comes from n at 6pm at night. You all have me rethinking the curtains though.

The light sabers do all light up!

Your room is so awesome. If adding curtains I would skip the generic stars and just have curtain panels made in a Star Wars fabric. There are reasonable custom curtain options on Etsy. Then you could pick a lighter color curtain with an amazing print - like the rebel symbol!

Your movie room is cooler than mine!

That’s what my husband wanted to do but I felt the stars kept it more adult looking and less like a little boys room. I may order some and hold them up and see what we think. We have a huge rebel symbol shower curtain in the bathroom close to this room.

If you want to go more subtle (if that’s possible at this point,) ;) how about a fabric that resembles a Jedi robe?

This is the hallway before the movie room

As much as I love Star Wars, I think the themed curtains pushes the room over the top and into kid/little boy territory. You have a classic movie theater look going on - I would consider velvet curtains to continue the movie theater feel. Similar color to wall would be more subtle, or dark red for more drama.

It’s well done. My husband is a collector. I get it. :)

I think you need drapes and IMO a movie room should be dark so what the heck might as well go all out. The only thing I wis is that that TV was hug lower so that the center of the screen was at eye level when you are seated. Other than that great job and I would not do star wars print drapes but you could do just plin ones in a color from the pillows if you wanted to.

Yes, you need blackout curtains. No, blinds will not shut out enough light. So many movies and TV shows are shot in such low light that you can't view them with any other light in the room. Some scenes in Game of Thrones can only be watched if the room is totally dark.

I love the idea of plush, velvet drapes. Perfect finishing touch for your nicely-done room!

Love it! Put them up and see how they look.

I think the stylized 5-pointed stars are too cutesy for the room. I searched for "nebula fabric" and found some options that are more like Hubble images of space.

We hung the curtains, I like them

    Yeah! They look great!

    Awesome room!

I would have tried to find curtains of the Imperial and the Rebel Alliance emblems on them. The other idea would be to do one black curtain for behind Vader and one white behind the stormtrooper -- or just both plain black. Might be neat to paint the wall the TV is on a black or dark gray.

I like them! Would you have enough room before the window starts to hang them on rings (you can sew on rings or get ones that clip on) instead of through the rod pocket? I think they would have more of a grown-up feel if they were hung that way.

No, unfortunately the ceiling is very low because its a basement, there’s not a lot of wiggle room to put rings

    Curtains look great!
