I would ask for a sample & take it home to your lighting.

Agreed. The slab looks lovely. Is there any gold veining in it? I've seen other posts where people were unhappy because there was no gold veining. I see this Quartz in my future if I can see and choose a slab that has a bit of gold in it to pull it together with other elements in my kitchen.

I love that slab - it really looks gorgeous. I think you'd be best to get a sample and view it at home with your lighting, cabinets, flooring etc. The dark coloured door - is that going to be on the island? Or are you doing uppers one colour and lowers another? Also, I see a white tile in your picture which I assume you're thinking for your backsplash. White subway seems a logical choice but check your white tile carefully against the counter colour, in your home and with your lighting. The counter and backsplash are going to be right up against one another, moreso than the counter and the cupboards (different planes) so make sure the white of the tile is the same white as the Quartz for the counter. You might consider a slightly light grey colour for the backsplash tile, the lightest colour from the veining in the quartz.

But I think you should show us pictures of the entire kitchen. What does your flooring look like? What are your appliances (stainless, black?)

Also, if you really love the quartz and the cupboard colour isn't quite right then I'd change the cupboard colour. Painting out your trim in the kitchen is a lot easier than living with a colour that doesn't work with the stone you like. No need to paint all the trim in the house.

Question for Dawn Denlinger--I'm thinking of using Clacatta Gold for my counters. RIght now the color I selected to paint my cabinets is really white (BM Decorator White). How does the Calcatta look with the creamy color you chose for your cabinets?

Anyone have a picture of their kitchen with the Calcutta gold? we have slightly off white cabinets too so curious if it looks alright and a dark wood island.

Dawn, looks really beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Is your island black and is your backsplash a cream color? Do you know what your backsplash is called. It all looks great together! My house has a lot of warm colors and so have been a bit nervous about the stark white in the countertops but really love the look of them.

Becky - thank you for your kind message. Yes, the island is black and the backsplash is a taupe color. I am sorry I do not know what it is called, but it pulls out some of the ‘veining’ in the quartz

Dawn, I’m looking at this color combo — the SW antique white and the calacatta gold quartz. You feel it works well and the cabinets don’t read too yellow?

No, I don’t. All trimwork, interior doors, and built in cabinets were already painted Antique White when we bought the house, and I just couldn’t paint everything to match a whiter cabinet color, so we painted the cabinets.

Dawn-Your cabinets don’t look yellow at all! We are in the same boat with off white trim and I’m very nervous new cabinets could look yellow. Do you know what the color/brand of cabinets you have? It all looks great together! Thank you for sharing.

I am having the same problem... but all my trim and crown molding are called putnam ivory... creamy beige... and I don't want to paint the entire house white or off white... and the doors... just to have my master bathroom light airy gray whites.... ideas?
