more counter-top help - laundry room

Hi everyone. Having a hard time choosing stone tops for different rooms and now we reach the laundry room. The floor is this marble (not a fan but hubby chose it) and as you can see its quite busy. Cabinets are white. Stone top ? I have no clue what to do here . Thinking a beige or a white/off white? Here are some options

Would recommend the white counter as the floor is quite a busy pattern already

Hi, yes agree with above. The white you are showing or a grey/beige that matches one of the colours in the floor tile. A solid colour for the counter would be a good choice. You have plenty of pattern with that floor tile.

Have a look at Corian. They have a lot of solid colour choices and some that aren't solid colour that are very subtle. There might be something there that would work well with your flooring colour.

Definitely keep it simple and plain, and match the cabinets.

Do you think a plain white/offwhite is okay? I was worried about “too much white” because of white cabinets, but really dont think anything else matches

Solid white is okay, or look for a solid light taupe color. A very subtle small pattern (speckles) might also work, and give you a bit of color without looking busy.

Between these 2 marked, one is off white,
One is white... which would work better or would either be fine?

Could you get a sample and bring home with you? Think it probably would be best for you to check with white cabinet doors plus floor.

If the doors are more of an offwhite the white stone my come across as too white. If the doors are pure white the offwhite might look and feel to yellowish etc.

Try to find the best match with the white parts in flooring plus white cabinet doors.

Leanna color rendering in photos is never accurate. You need to bring the samples into the home to see what works best. As others have said, white/ off white will work best with the other selections.

I personally would go with a dark finish- either reclaimed planks or a solid wood slab in rich tone for contrast. Mahogany? Then iron or stainless handles, and rush shades and mat.

Do you think that detergents and bleach, etc., would damage any stone? Is formica out of the question? I do like that floor, however.

Maybe you can use a remnant from the mini kitchen. I don't think you'll use the whole slab.

IMO, you need a bit more contrast than the white or off white gives you. As mentioned above, a taupe. Or stainless steel for a near bulletproof surface. (Are you installing a sink? If so, you could have a stainless sink integrated into a stainless steel counter top. Seamless.)

@cavin i had thought about doing wood tops, but dont even know where to go about finding something like that.

@espc im not sure if these things would harm the stone. These are quartz options so supposed to be able to be cleaned. What is formica ?

Buy whatever you like, nobody else is going to see it.

But keep this foremost in your mind: It's a Laundry Room. Laundry. Room.

Personally I'd go for a darker grey as Tina suggested.

Formica is a heat resistant, wipe-clean, plastic laminate of paper or fabric with melamine resin. This product was pretty standard in most homes for countertops in years past. Then with the popularity of stone, it was used less and less. You can find samples of formica in any box store near you. The cost is minimal compared to stone, although the look can resemble quartz or granite and does not have the panache stone has.

There are different slabs of marble, if you want to stick to the theme of the room. I found an article here, that talks about it.
