Cute little guy. I haven't been hearing many tree frogs so far this year due to the cool weather I believe. Yes, hopefully he will just eat the bad guys!!

I love finding tree frogs in the garden. However, they usually make their presence completely unknown - except for their chirping - until I unintentionally disturb their hiding place and they leap out of the way, scaring the stuffing out of me in the process!!

Here is one that decided the top of my BBQ was a good place to perch...........

I agree that they will most likely earn their rent in bugs and slugs eaten.

The ones in my garden are way too small to eat many slugs!! Maybe just the babies :-) These little guys are only a couple inches in size at most and PNW slugs are monsters....many topping out at 6-8" in length!!

A little digging yielded this impressive name: Pseudacris hypochondriaca hypochondriaca, commonly called the Baja tree frog. It is the most frequently found tree frog of coastal Southern California.

Up here in the PNW, it would be Pseudacris regilla, or Pacific tree frog.

I have a toad in the strawberries...yippee.
