We've had a kitchen fitted recently. There's a couple things annoying me but kitchen fitter says they are normal and shouldn't be adjusted. Seeking advice as I'm completely inexperienced and feel like I can't challenge his statement. Side note, we bought and had installed through Wickes.
A) We got oak worktops. These are "short" where it is supposed to meet a panel (where a larder unit is) and is filled with silicone (visibly so). I would say at least 1cm at widest bit, and about 0.5cm at smallest gap. It's filled with transparent silicone and my eyes are drawn to it when I walk in. You can also see the cupboard underneath opening at the hinge as worktop doesn't cover it at the side.
B) got a slimline beko dishwasher. Came home horrified to discover he'd cut a chunk out of plinth/baseboard underneath. It's about am inch deep and you can see it when you walk into the kitchen, looks really strange.
He says he's going to move the worktop over and this will solve things but if he moves it from one side it will make a gap at the other (he doesn't seem to think so, but it will). Tiles etc are already on wall and he wanted to be done start of this week but I've said I'm not happy to sign off just yet.
Any advice?
