What are you hoping to accomplish? This is a very traditional look, and your round table seems to be a good fit if that is what you are going for. I agree with Harding, something on the table would complete your look.

If you want a more contemporary look, then I would paint the upper wall and the chair rail along with the wainscoting all the same color...like a smokey beige. Your chairs and table could remain, but I would change out the light fixture to a clean lined chandelier on a larger scale ( 27-32" in diameter) I would leave out the fern and vase and put down an area rug for some color instead of using accessories. Call attention to the table and the window instead of the walls! NEW ROOM!

The table shape is okay for this space. How about a new light pendant? A nice piece of art over your console would add color and I would remove the plant. Is that a sliding door? Adding some new drapes would look nice as well.

Not sure what I am trying to accomplish ... What type of center piece??

You have too much in a small space. New window covers on ends of window only. A print with color of walls. Add a drum type light over table hang 36" from top of table. A white shade. Add a sunburst mirror 42" centered. with small table and fern is hang. 12" above chair rail. Remove other arrangement and add art to that wall traditional framed in dark wood big 36" hang like mirror. Add big red bowl to table fill with apples . The metal art is not working, keep look traditional.

You could update table which is nice, with new chairs in fabric. Stay in color of walls, add a rust or red print with gold and white fabric.

My comment above should read remove fern and table add mirror to that wall.
