Pretty telling when we are begging for our low 90s back...

I welcome the change. it has been brutal and it seems all I have been able to get done is water my fruit tree orchard, my orchids, my desert roses, blueberries, fig trees and a bunch of big veggie pots (eggplants and 3 tomatoes).... bout time

The bahia grass on my property had become "crunchy" to walk on it was so dead and dry.

However it will plump back up after a couple of rains

kinzyjr, it looks like we'll be back into our mid-to high 80s with normal afternoon thunderstorms. I'm hoping that the forecast for Sunday being a long, rainy day is true. We really need it.

Ben, sadly, I lost a few things to the winter rains and heat. Discovered today my hardy hibiscus didn't make it. I'm sad about all I've lost due to the winter rains and the spring heat wave, but the saddest was my Everglades tomato, which was just beautiful and loaded with fruit, but they don't like extreme heat, so it wilted and died overnight. I managed to get some cuttings, but it's a goner.

sorry to hear about the everglades 'mater... have tasted a few and really like the flavor.

Should not be hard to get a few seeds from someone n the area...no?

BTW went to check on the four fig trees in Chase Hollow and they have some fruit but not ready yet. The four varieties there are Ficazzana white, LSU purple, Black Mission and Texas Sweet/Sweet Sugar. Will whack them back next winter and do a massive giveaway for postage only....

Ben, I have seeds, and I planted a few, but cuttings take off faster. I'll have a few by the time you come to harvest figs. Let me know. I'll buy some from you. Seems we never get to meet when you're here, within 100 yards of me. I know people who would love cuttings of those figs also, so let me know when the "whacking" occurs. :)

LOL sonni1. We've had a few really nice days lately, even though it rained all day Sunday. It's not summer yet, so I'm enjoying the last gasp of spring.

Rain each day for the last 7 days. I can live with that. The temperatures have been way more comfortable as a result.
