We just received an order for the PlyGem replacement windows in SoCal and my husband installed one window this weekend. Our house was built in the 90's with the cheap aluminum windows on most track homes. We were not prepared to see our den turn into a Green Cave after installing the PlyGem Window. My walls which were a nice gray/beige have a sickly green cast in my den. My wood floors look darker and colder. I cannot believe how much one window has completely ruined the open, light feeling in my den. The remaining windows are stacked in our garage and we do not want to install them and create a completely green cast interior. But, we cannot return for a refund and PlyGem representative states 99% of all people LOVE the green cast (which was not shown on their brochure photos or the sample).

I know this is a long shot but I'm searching for any method to remove this greenish tint from the windows - can that be done? Is there a chemical or process that can take off the green? Because if not, I'm going to see if I can sell these windows to a neighbor with the same track home and lose about 50% of my cost. I will keep the ugly aluminum windows and have bright light before living in the Green Cave from Low E windows.

Info: the VT on our windows is .39-.44 with U-Factor .30.
