New Kitchen: help me!

I have the beginnings of a kitchen, but am stuck on cabinet color! Still to be added is a major vent hood that is stainable, and open shelving on each side of vent hood. Flooring is the color you see and will also be on the stairs. This is an open floor plan and the upper level looks down on the kitchen! Appliances are stainless (one decision down!)

Did the person who built these not have a shop where they finish the cabinets? I'm worried here..

As far as color - what was your inspiration for the space - what color are the walls going to be ? Since you are on such an open floor plan what are your furnishings like? Did you have an idea of what sort of countertop you may want? How bold are you?? Do you like 2 colors? ( Uppers light paint or stain and the lowers darker )... What do the doors look like?

You really can do anything here...

I love these pictures for inspiration on the level above the kitchen. We get a lot of light in this space!

Sorry...didn’t finish answering all the questions! I painted the walls decorators white - that is the new color. This space was very dark before. I am open to two toned cabinets, and want the vent to be a focal point! It will go over a 36 inch freestanding range - squared off but angled with the ceiling.

Which of the fun, vibrant colors in your inspiration photos is your favorite? Go with that. Or use that on the backsplash and do white cabinets. Caveat: what are your countertops going to be?

Love the blues and greens. I was thinking white quartz for the counters.
