I like the darker warm brown for the accent wood strips (those were always done a shade or two darker than the surrounding floor color)

(will that dark brown in the room w/the carpet be done as well?? or is that staying dark? if it's staying as is, match the rest of the floor to it and make your accent wood stripes a little lighter)

don't really care for the gray stain unless you're doing a really neutral kitchen w/white or gray cabs, or even very dark wood cabs. Any type of yellow based wood won't work w/the grays.

I have a lot of floor and I thought one day I would stain the island dark in my kitchen or paint the cabinets should I worry about that now or just think about the floor?

Just worry about the floor for now. Once that is finished it will inform your other changes/choices for paint, etc.
