What kinds of colors do you like?

each grout company has their own colors. could you narrow it down to what you're using?

I used Mapei Warm Gray w/my tiles.

this one is Mapei Frost

Customs' DeLorean Gray. this color has more of a lavender gray undertone. very cool toned.

pick a few you like, take some extra tiles and glue them to a board. sample the colors you like and see what looks best to you

White grout is nice but you're eyes will be on the grout. I prefer Frost the washable one, its a bit more expensive but its all worth it.

'the washable one'. huh? they're all 'washable'. are you referring to the epoxy or urethane grouts that are stain resistant? this is for a backsplash. unless the cook is throwing sauce against the wall tile on a daily basis, a regular grout that has a sealer applied to it will be sufficient.

We're renovating our kitchen with white cabinets, a navy blue island, and quartz countertops (statuary classique). I'm planning to do a 2 x 8 herringbone backsplash with possibly gray grout. If that sounds good, what color gray grout would you do?

Does it sound good to you? Are these colors you have always loved or do you like them because they're on trend.

If these are colors you truly love, I'd go with a soft gray grout. Almost a white. I did Platinum and it reads very light.

If these are colors you're choosing because they're safe, then maybe rethink what you're doing.

Yes, I picked out the kitchen design, because I love these colors. I'm not working w/ a designer, though I sometime bat ideas off of a designer friend of mine in another state. She's just so busy, I try to limit that. :)

I'm thinking I'd like a contrast grout, because it gives a more modern feel, but I want to make sure it's not too overpowering.

Beth - Do you think Dolorean would look good w/ white and navy? That's what I can't imagine, but am leaning towards. We haven't picked out a grout co, so it's all open for now.

I’m doing the same kitchen as you! Dark blue and white cabinets. I think grout color depends on how much you want the backsplash to stand out. Are you doing glossy or matte?

Val - I'm going w/ glossy. You? I'd like the backsplash to stand out a bit, plus I think the contrast provides a more modern look. Just not sure of the actual color.

Susan, do you have pictures of how your kitchen turned out? That is almost exactly what we're about to do with our kitchen. Curious to know how it turned out with the statuary classique!

Susan, curious what color you choose for your grout. I am remaking my kitchen with cadet blue bottom cabinets, white upper, oil bronzed hardware, a white countertop that has very subtle specks of light blue, beige and sparkle. But I don't know what color of grout to choose for the harringbone backsplash. I want the pattern to stand out, but I also want the color to blend with the Cadet Blue lower cabinets and countertop. I was thinking pewter, but afraid this is too dark.

Does anyone have an answer to Eloizabeth Rivera's question above? I have a blue accent wall in my bathroom and don't want the grout around my white subway tiles to look blue. I want a light gray Mapei grout that doesn't show stains. Same grout color will be used on white and black tile floor.
