What with old stories?

Not sure where else to post this but anyone else notice the increase in old stories? I'm seeing articles from 2015.

Spammers often bring up threads, then someone makes a comment, then the spam is reported and removed, but the comment from a real person is still there and brings the thread up to the top.

I think the OP means stories as in articles, not discussion threads.

I’ve noticed re-posted stories, but I haven’t been reading Houzz very long, so they are usually new to me (although they did re-post one today from November 2018!).

Sorry I did mean stories, just seems odd that they come up as current in my feed but dated years ago. Beth, do you think this happens with stories as well?

yes it does. any time anyone comments, it gets revived. I know this because I get notifications on stories i've commented on 2 years ago! (and it shows up in the feed)

Is anyone else having issues with the "Photos" section? I wanted to update some of my Idea books, but even after narrowing the choices down with every filter possible, I get the same photos numerous times throughout.

Plus, a lot of the ones I get have absolutely NO relation to the categories I have checked at all!

It is infuriating, compared to several years ago. Almost useless, IMHO.

Mary Elizabeth, so glad you posted your comment. I thought it was just me. I'll do a very straightforward search, say, white cabinets under a style category and the photo results seem totally random.

I used to find Houzz Photos really useful for our own projects or for answering posted questions but now I get better results using some other source.

barncatz, absolutely agree! I've just given up!

Their are numerous posters, (both PRO and not) who's advice is so helpful, and their design ideas are superb!

But who ever is in charge of Houzz.com now, has lost so much of what was great before!

Thanks Beth for clarifying that for me.

I think Houzz needs to step up it's game and improve the site not aesthetically but functionally.
I also have search results unrelated to what I'm looking for.
Hopefully someone that's in charge might read this.

They used to post many more articles per day. Now they post fewer and may of them are recycled old articles. Disappointing. I also feel like the houzz tours are kind of middle of the road. Fewer really interesting spaces. I presume houzz tours and articles are not their bread and butter. Overall, I concur that I like houzz less than I used to.

Also, anyone else noticed that "before and afters" is now a tag that get applied to every post where people are just asking simple questions? I used to love coming on here and seeing real before and after pics and just scrolling through. Now you have to really search to find a good before and after post.

Some people think this is Facebook and have no concern that their 6000th post in a thread is bumping something current off the front page. It's so rude.

Lonely people with no friends looking for some attention...

and some people are so rude and have no life, that all they do is come on here to bitch and criticize. check out the 'activity' of those people and you'll see their non-helpful comments.
