Linda, I know how you feel about that long drive. I shy away from doing that and let DH take care of it. But his little "antics' three weeks ago, means I have to do it now, plus he is developing macular degeneration.

DD1 and her hubby, and DD2 are coming this week to check on their Dad. And since I haven't been able to do any regular cleaning, that is on my list for today. But I did do some sewing on Thursday while I was doing a load of sheets and towels. Laundry room right next to sewing area. Good arrangement!

If I clean quickly, I can do up some more blocks., I hope, I hope!

My husband has issues also and I do most of the driving now. But he'll have his cataract surgery in a month or two and that might help.

I am finally assembling son's quilt for his new bedroom. It's king size, so taking awhile. I want to get it off to the longarmer so it will be ready for the next trip to Oregon. I will probably be ready for borders tomorrow or Tuesday. I can't remember the name of the block but when I post it, you can all help. He picked the traditional star block himself and wanted it to look "farmy". That's a new one to me. Looks good so far.

Linda, sorry for your loss. You should have good results with the cataract surgery and driving won't be a worry anymore. I had both eyes with cataracts. Got to the point I couldn't read the road signs anymore. Fine with around the immediate familiar area but not good for highway driving or night driving.

Rita, my eyes are at that stage now where I'm fine driving if I know where I am going! Driving after dark is a problem too.

We were awakened at 5:20 this morning by a loud crash. Someone drove through the very large heavy gate to our neighborhood. So began the calls to the police, checking the video and walking the neighborhood to look for the culprit car. (My husband is on the HOA board.)

Combine that with cleaning up from last night’s dinner party, and I haven’t gotten any sewing done! But I should soon have another baby quilt photo to post. Just need to get it sandwiched, quilted and bound.

Linda, you will see so much better after the surgery. I was so happy I had both eyes done a few years ago. Hubby had to give up driving due to glaucoma last year. It's a hard adjustment for him.

I had total knee replacement surgery June 4. Everyone tells me I am recovering just fine, but of course, I want my life back NOW. My main sewing machine is upstairs and since I don't have to do stairs, I haven't done that in therapy. I think I'll have them help me with that this week. I do have my 50 year old machine in my downstairs bedroom and was going to ask my daughter to bring down a box of the 2.5" sq and I'll make them up into 4 patches. Just haven't had the oompf to do it yet.

I've been working on my Crossroads quilt. I have all 18 blocks finished, and I'm sewing the sashing, cornerstones and blocks together. I'm really pleased with how it's coming along. I'm not looking forward to cutting the border fabric. It's a stripe, so there's lots of room for error. I've been trying to get enough gumption to quilt the baby quilt I have sandwiched, but I haven't been able to get it together yet. However, our air conditioner went out yesterday, and the coolest place is in the lower level where my Tiara is, so maybe I'll get down there yet.

DH is having back surgery tomorrow. i hope that it's successful; he's been in a lot of pain lately. I had two spinal injections for sciatic nerve pain last Wednesday. The doc said it would take 3-10 days to feel the effect of the steroids. It sure was nice the first day or two until the anesthetic wore off though. Sounds like quite a few of us are in the "golden years" where something is always acting up. You're right though, Linda, it's definitely better than the alternative.

Lois, I love this exercise to rid myself of sciatic nerve pain. video I've had a lot of the nerve pain with the knee replacement, but can't move my knee this way yet.

Oh my word, we are all falling apart!!!.

Theresa, the current quilt is for older son and wife. Purple quilt lives in Broomfield, Colorado. This one is going up to Shady Cove, Oregon. I'll have quilts scattered all over one day.

My farthest quilt is in Cap Juan, France, on the Mediterranean. There are several on Maui, one in Toronto, one in Florida, one in Arizona, one in California, several in New York City, one in Connecticut, one in Pennsylvania, one in Idaho, several in Colorado, a couple in Illinois, one in Wisconsin, and many in Minnesota of course. I think Theresa's in Australia wins for being the farthest from home.

Most of mine go to Burkina Faso, Africa. It's 5424 miles away. But Australia still wins. :)
