Unless there is a wall or other obstacle, any door should be able to open more than 90 degrees.

Building codes consider the opening width to be measured from the face of the door to the latch side stop when the door is open 90 degrees. I'm not sure what your concern is or why centering it is relevant.

A door swing is determined by its hinge design not what it is made of.

Hi, thanks, its because it will be a porch door and then we have a door into the house - if we recentre the porch door and then leave the door to the house to one side, if the new porch door doesnt open wide than 90 degrees it will create a chicane effect. We want to ensure we can still get large items in and out knowing one door will be centered - the other to the left hand side.

Sure, image 1 is what we have at the moment, Both doors hinged left and to the left of the aperture, with the front door of the porch having a side light / panel to the right. However, in the 2nd image we would move the front porch door to the middle and have two side panels, one each side. My worry is unless this door can open beyond 90 degrees you create a chicane effect and the porch door opens into almost in the middle of the first door.

I would align both doors whether they are centered or offset.

I try to learn something new each day, today it was "chicane effect".

I should note that I have assumed the door frames will be mounted flush with the inside face of the walls. If they are set to the outside face they would be unable to fully open and would require a door stop to prevent the hinge from being pulled out of the door jamb. I have never seen such a door configuration but I looked up Solidor and the door photos look like they might be oddly mounted.

This is what a door detail would ook like. The hinge barrel extends far enough that the door can swing freely.
