Cant ignore anymore and lost on next steps

I have a walk in closet with a door that leads to the backyard. On the exterior of the door there are just 3 steps. I am trying to decide what to do in the space. any ideas that wont look weird. patio, deck, enclosed porch, pergola??? Here is all I can find on the internet but I have a ranch so balcony not an option.

1. Do you use the doorway to go in & out often?
2. Do other people go in & out this way?
3. Do you want to keep using that door to go in & out of?
4. Is there a code reason as to why there's a doorway in the closet?
5. Is house in a historic district or any other reason why it must remain a doorway?
6. Do you have enough storage in closet as is?

Please post inside & outside photos of that area,so Houzzers can help more.

A layout of floorplan would be useful,too.
