You need an undercount sink. Top mounting doesn’t work well with farm sinks. Too many places for water to get through and damage. If you are replacing you need the Kohler Whitehaven short apron sink. And no other. It fits a standard non farmhouse sink base with no cabinet alteration.

Thank you, but we did consider that sink. I believe we determined it is right drain only which will not work for because of existing plumbing. Additionally, we really prefer two bowls.

An additional fyi, we cannot do a 36" and do not want to reduce to 30" -- the options on the Whitehaven.

The sink was already purchased I'm assuming, there is no point in trying to sell you the kohler (I did lots of research and decided against it btw - hated the drain location too!) so I'm not sure what GreenDesigns point is here. If you really can't do undermount I'd do the flush over having it on top of the countertop any day.

The 35” sink fits a standard 36” non farm sink base. But here is a 33” one too. Just use an internal bowl on those very few occasions that everything doesn’t go in the DW.

Humm, IT failure. Filtering on kohler for Whitehaven does not give that option. But it does show as available.

More nonsense. An Elkay Quartz Luxe (composite) or a Kohler K-3942 (stainless steel) will undermount anywhere a 36" Whitehaven short apron will.

Three for three, wrong again. On a short apron retrofit, the cabinet front must be tapped off and the top rail of the cabinet and center style (if there is one) must be removed. Since the sink blocks the cabinet front and the cabinet front blocks the sink, they must be reinstalled together. On a new installation, you may make the cabinet alterations without tapping off the cabinet front because the countertop has not yet been installed.

Thought I would add what I went with. Attached are some intermediate photos showing the Whitehaven 33” sink. I have used the sink a little and the one hole does give great space for pots. That will be convenient.

The sink design is very functional for retrofit installation with spacing at the lip and side to fit into existing woodwork. As I worked with it may appreciation of the design grew. Two supports built by a neighbor “wood artist” support the sink. These are seen inset inside the cabinet support. An additional board is added under the lip to complete the front surface. Notice the short lip allows me to use same cabinet door size (to be uniform with other doors).

Additionally, a big shout out to Kohler for using well designed and effective cardboard packing. No additional styrofoam in landfills.
