Banquette Help!

I'm helping my 25 yr old son with his first kitchen. It is eat in and there is no dining room. Thinking of using a banquette to make more open and fun but what shape!!! It bothers me a little that it will be off center because there is a doorway to the right. We are taking walls down and could add to one too. The area is about 11 wide and the short wall is 3 feet now. HELP!

Consider doing a L-shape banquette that wraps around the 1/2 wall and hang a tall piece of art by the doorway.

Perhaps you could extend out the half wall a bit and then put an L-shaped banquette, sorta like you have. This would be more intimate.

Another option is to build in a long banquette bench on the back wall, use a rectangular table and a few chairs on the kitchen side (no chairs on table ends).

This is the basic floorplan. He is redoing in a dark cabinet, simple modern design.

I would probably get rid of the pony wall and do something like this

I love the tall backs you see like the ones in the pictures you attached. Now I have to figure out how to make one. Don't think it would be too bad to make
