Hi Bob! I find that too with some of my trees....so are incredibly vigorous, others just putter along....I wonder whether it's the variety, graft, rootstock? Who knows. They still look good though!!

I do believe that rootstock has a lot to do. On my 2017 and 18 I was planning for them not to bear any fruit but since my set back it really does not matter anymore, besides I have a few duplicates. When you do exchanges and have no problems grafting, you are going to have too many.

Bob, you have those trees partially planted? The pots are in ground? Why is that? It seems to be something your trees relish and boy do they look very nice. Great job there. Look at that fruit. Do you think it will ripen before winter in your area? Not sure of how much longer you kee keep your trees out.

Laura, look at the shape of that pomelo, not as pronounce as a Dekopan, a little shoulder.

Mike, my figtrees are just a couple inches in the ground and also some mulch to keep the soil wet so that the roots are going in the ground through the large square drain holes. Reason? Roots needs to go in the ground so I don’t have to water them, just in the beginning.

All citrus will be finishing of ripening in the well lighted workshop, with temps in the mid sixties. Shop has central air/heat, which means free maintenance.

My citrus/ Tropicals fence in garden lot is 200 ‘x 100 ‘ , for me it is a daily joy to walk through several times a day, fruits everywhere now, everything are well placed, no fighting to get around the trees, about 1000 gl of rainwater readily available for the rest of the summer, well water is used of and on to temper the too acidic rainwater.

Citrus and figs are going in their allotted places sometimes in mid November. If we have a freak early artic blast they go in sooner.

Of topic, a large , I mean large tree floated in the bay and lodge against our boat dock, the 3 of us moved that sucker to our fish beds and sink this thing using 12 cinderblocks. We already have plenty of fish having our place as their home. Plain crazy!! My doctor told me you better take it easy On my last visit.
