Your cabinets look good now. I think a beige or white granite countertop with light colored doorknobs would look classy.

I think they would look better painted white or off-white with a dark counter and simple white backsplash. Add some good under cabinet lighting and updated knobs and pulls, too.

I like the idea of the Typhoon Bordeaux granite and keeping the cabinets...but I also like the idea of painting the cabinets white since the wood stain of the cabinets and the moldings don't match.

I'm not one usually to say paint, but I think the wood grain looks a bit dated. Definitely change out hardware. White is a pretty safe option - or even black if you think it might be easier/cover better. You might consider having them professionally painted however so that you get a really great finish.

I like the idea of a light quartz or granite and a light backsplash with the existing cabients...but I think the handles on the cabinets date the room the most...if you are keeping the cabinets dark, you will have to find something that will replace those handles...might have to touch up the finish around those handles since they look unique. I would investigate that first to see whether or not that can be done. If you can't put new handles in without refinishing the cabinets, I say paint them.

By doorknobs I meant handles, so I agree with 14th street. Sorry, english not my mother tongue. :)

Thanks everyone. One thing I failed to mention was that it is a small kitchen, that's why I have been leaning towards the white. Great feedback to consider.
