Kitchen Remodel Advice

Hi all! I am remodeling my kitchen. Cabinets are installed. I did white shaker stye anz am doing Viatera Minuet. I just replaced the appliances to finger print resist stainless. The first thing I noticed is how much black the range has. Other manufacturers has SS backsplash.
Now, I want a contemporary sink. I wanted to buy Krauz because it has excellent reviews, but it is 10" deep. I found two other sinks that are not so deep, Vigo 8" deep Model VG2918K1 and Rene by Elkay 9" deep Model R1-1022D-16. Both are 16 gauge Stainless Steel 304. Both cutouts are smaller and will look better in my small kitchen top. Any idea how they compare? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I am 5'-7", and it will be very hard on my back. My son's house has an undermount apron sink, and I can feel it is to deep for me. I have never measure the depth, but I think it is 9" plus 1-1/4" for the granite. We are talking of 10-1/4"deep. The Kraus would be 11-1/4".

These are the pictures of my kitchen in progress. The dishwasher is the end of that wall, and the bank of drawers the end of the countertop. To the left there is the refrigerator, which was damage so I refused the delivery, and a pantry cabinet.

I invested the money in upgrades to make the kitchen more functional. From two drawers that I had, now I will have six, plus a lazy susan in the blind base. The cabinet will help carry the weight of the quartz. Before, there was a dead corner. I demo the built in pantry to install a 27"W x 90" H pantry with roll out trays. I also removed the cabinets and the wall a over the sink pass thru.

As you see it is a very small kitchen. I am adding two 12" D cabinets in front of the refrigerator , which will be counter depth. The cabiets will be floating 30" H. it will compensate for the cabinets above the sink plus it will visually change the kitchen as I am removing the little eating table I had in that space.

Hi Essie, did you try to upload photos? Houzz gets fractious at times with this. At any rate, there are no photos, and you are asking a question that is partly appearance-driven. Pics would help.

Why do you want a shallower sink? —just curious. I have had two Kraus sinks and will be installing a third. I love the depth. One was a 36” SS curved apron front and required a deep cutout in the cab, but everyone thought it looked great, and there was room underneath for two trash cans. (The depth hid a lot of sins, lol.)

D N Where did you install the kichen faucet with the Kraus sink? Did you tiled the backsplash? I would love to see a picture.

Sorry, I'm having trouble dealing with the new upside-down display of posts...

Essie, we bought the pro-style faucet that came as a package with the sink. It was installed behind the sink itself, in the counter, in the center. Apparently there wasn't a lot of space back there, and the fabricator had to install the faucet backwards, meaning that the switch from spray to filler was on the opposite side, and the temp control was reversed front-to-back. I think that was a bit of a unique situation due to the "anatomy" of the kitchen, which was being remodeled.

DN I decided to do the Krauss workstation KWU110-30. Home Depot is out of stock of KWU110-32. I can buy it at Amazon, but I prefer to buy it from HD as they are installing the countertops. The 30" may be a better proportion for my small kitchen. The sink itself is 28" × 16". What do you think? A friend recommended the same type of faucet you have, but it is huge and adjacent to the raised bar. I will have to do a backplash like you because the sink is 19" deep, and there will not be space for the stone BS. In addition, I won't be able to install the disposal as the drain is to high, but I like better the idea of having the sink than the disposal. Oh, the sink has the drain on the right, and it slopes from 9-1/×2" to 10". Sweet! The faucet is a Delta Pull Out. It has the Shield Spray and Spot Resist Stainless. I envy you the side drain! I do like the workstation line.

We're doing the same sink as the one I posted (the one big-azz sink), except in 33", and the drain is still centered. It worked well before though, so fingers crossed.

We're not doing the Kraus faucet this time. We're going with a (naturally) discontinued Moen line called Hensley. DN. I am happy with the sink decision. Home Depot sells the Moen Hensley kichen faucet for $212. 90. It is a pretty contemporary faucet with finger print resist. Some stores carry it maybe less expensive. thankz for all the advice. I will post some pictures when is done.
