My experience w marble is that it needs to be dried after each use so that both mineral deposits and rust don't get any chances.. Marble cleaner should help w young spots. Steel wool works on heavier deposits.

Thank you for the advice, my husband did not get the memo about drying after each use. I am afraid using steel wool would scratch the marble?

I have not put in counters yet. I love the look of quartzite over Quartz, but am thinking about the upkeep. I do not want to install a counter that looks great initially, but not so great after a few months.

Why do people insist on installing a work surface over which they fret so much about appearance? It's a work surface, not a precious artifact.

Buy a countertop that you can use and not worry about.

I had marble in my last kitchen. A brand new single edge razor blade will remove the hard water deposits around faucets. Works on all stone.

I learned this from watching the installers clean up their epoxy. Takes a little practice to learn the angle and pressure.

Get your water treated to remove the minerals.
