We just purchased a home built in 1940 and are renovating the bathroom. We would like to salvage the original freestanding sink which is 24 inches wide, but intend to update the mirror and sconces or add an over the mirror light. Are there any rules/ general guidelines to follow related to the size of the mirror and light fixture? How close to the ceiling is too high? I do not have pictures to post because the bathroom is gutted. Thanks for your insight!
