i believe the fried bananas would have a fragrant flower .. and near white flowers ...

oops.. and btw.. had i walked up to this plant.. i would have guessed august moon.. and its an old enough plant.. that one might expect it to be sold by the handful ... im not sure the flowers compare though

but.. when it all boils down.. it might not be an easy one to ID with great certitude ...

Blooms are very pale lavender. Could be called near-white I think. They are slightly fragrant, as in if you put your nose right up the flower you can smell a bit of fragrance. Bloomed 2 weeks ago here in SC.

Also, I don't know if this is helpful, but two of these had what I assume are sports this year.

fragrant? .... most NEAR white flowers .... actually have a purple tinge until they open ... notice in your pic.. the buds are purplish ... but the flower appears white after they open .. go figure on that ..

Yeah then I would call these near white. And barely fragrant, if at all. Looking at the Myhosta page for August Moon, everything fits except that it says that AM is fertile, and my hosta never has seed pods.

Bumping this to pose my last comment as a question. The my hosta page says that August Moon is fertile but these hostas never set seed. Is it still possible that it's August Moon if it never set seed?

I have an AM and the leaf is a bit different shaped and it does have seed pods. The leaf is a bit more spade like, not rounded. However I understand that there can be differences in plants, depending on age, location, soil, etc. My AM is a smaller plant——assuming it is AM.

The leaves are too rugose to be Fried Bananas.

djacob, interestingly enough, my smaller ones do have a somewhat spade-shaped leaf similar to your photo. This one here is smaller due to root competition.

Also the ones pictured above are probably larger because they are growing in a wet spot where the water from the downspouts and washing machine empty.

hmmm Guacamole isn't even being considered. The third pic sure looks like my Guacomole.

Thanks arcy, but I have Guacamole, and this one looks very different. Guacamole has edge variegation (at least in the spring before it gets lots of sun), this one is all gold/chartreuse. Also my Guacamole is blooming right now. This one bloomed 2-3 weeks ago. And the scapes are different.
