Mine is not Mont Blanc...but similar. Quartzite Gioia. Don’t think pics of mine would help much...but here is one. Forgive the mess.

We have Mont Blanc in a leathered finish. It was installed in November 2018. We love it!! The veining is amazing and the waterfall stunning!

Thanks for sharing! Mine will be installed next week, and thinking of using as the backsplash since I don't have much squarefootish, and want a contemporary look.

Unfortunately my fabricator let me down with a terrible seam in the incorrrect spot. Otherwise island I am happy with, not sure what to d now. Was going to use another slab for backsplashes, but clearly they have trouble bookmatching. So bummed!

I am unsure of what to do, and will check if there are any additional slabs from this block, or should just rip out. Ugh!

Can you post pictures of your finished project? Our kitchen is very similar.

Hi everyone, just finished my kitchen and very happy with my Mont blanc quartzite. :)

Looks amazing! How bad is it for staining? Seems like the dealers are trying to talk us out of getting it and suggest quartz. The idea of real stone is much more exciting.. just worried about stains since we cook and entertain a lot. Any help would be appreciated.

At first, I was skeptical about the hardness of the stone and how easy it can scratch or stain but after a month of hard use, I can assure you that I don’t regret a bit of my choice. No stain at all and cleaning it was the easiest job ever.

Do not let your dealer talk you into quartz. My niece just did her kitchen in quartz and she hates it. Stains and have to be careful putting anything above 180 degrees on it. There is no comparison between the two. Had other people tell me they hate their quartz. My brother ruined his.

Quartzite is a natural stone, unlike quartz.

@Thao Le I like the subtle sheen of your honed Mont Blanc quartzite countertops. Please share whether you have had problems with staining? If not, kindly share what type of sealer you used. I plan to use Mont Blanc for my upcoming renovation but given the porosity, I want to be sure my contractor uses a sealer that is proven to properly 'impregnate' the stone to prevent staining.

No problems with staining. Just avoid oil sitting on the stone for a prolonged period of time. We love it and so happy we did the honed finish.

Hi everyone, thinking of doing mont blanc but SO NERVOUS about staining and water marks. I have two young kids. Has anyone here had a bad run with Mont blanc? What did most people use for sealing? It seems like it is very dependent on what slab you get so I am nervous!

I have small kids and it seems it is so dependent on the specific slab you get (some being more like marble than others). Has anyone here had issues with staining or water stains? Thanks!

No need to worry about staining. I had it in my last house and I’m doing it again in the house I’m building now. There is a product that you put in top of stains and clean it three days later, and it removes stains. If not, you do it again, and it removes it entirely the second time. The secret to avoid staining is to let oil sit in top of it from butter or other oils. If you wipe your counters after cooking and eating within a a couple hours, you won’t get stains. I lived mine and that’s why I’m doing it again. I got occasional stains, but it was removed with this product. Water marks go away when the dry, yellow stains are usually caused by the sealer getting burned, but quartzite can take a lot of heat, and if the sealer gets burned, just wipe a sealer on top of it (511 Impregnator Sealer). This is very rare by the way. The stain remover from Amazon is Stonetech oil stain remover for natural stone. It really works. I even put a fry pan lid on top of the counter and forgot it there until the next day, so I did get a circular oil stain, but this stain remover did the job. It smells bad and it’s hard to wash off fingers, but it’s ana awesome product. I tried putting a picture here, but it didn’t work.

Absolutely no problem with staining. I had it for 2 years. I did notice just recently a slight chip which you cannot see unless you feel it. Think it might have been there when installed. My contractor said not guaranteed for chipping.

Why do the Mont Blancs look different. I went to retail store fabricator and they told me this is a Mont Blanc quartzite (dolomite) like.

How can I tell for sure. It looks like some pictures here of mint Blanc but other retailers it looks different.
