None. The shutters on the double windows look silly (yes, even though we all know that they aren't real, they should look as though they are, and those would not cover the windows they are next to). The other shutters seem too narrow to be real.

The style isn't the issue, the size and the mounting is.

Which do you have on the mock up? Just try both styles on it. Since they're obviously faux, it is up to you to decide what looks better to you. I think the dark color is a bit harsh.

Do you have a picture of the house without any shutters?

A friend of mine has the same exact house as me (same style, color brick and siding) and the only difference is that hers does not have shutters while mine does. Mine has those silly ones flanking the double windows too. I'm trying to convince my husband to take them down. I think it's a much cleaner look without them.

Maybe you don't need any shutters at all.

No shutters. The double windows are too large for them. The windows looks nice with the trim and no shutters. Pretty house!

aspringdiyer - sorry I don't have any pictures. I don't feel comfortable putting a picture of the exterior of my actual house out there, nor do I have a picture of my friend's house.

I vote for no shutters too. But bulk up on window, door, corner and cornice trim instead. If you take the shutters off and do nothing, your house will look bare and weird.

Yes that is the listing photo of my house. It just has red shutters now as shown in the picture below. But I’m not a big fan of the big red...so I’m interested in getting other ideas to elevate the curb appeal.

Another vote for no shutter and a yes vote for beefier window trim.
