I’m looking for advice on fruit trees which might grow well in SF’s foggy Outer Sunset. Our soil is sandy and we can adjust the mix, but we’d prefer to avoid adding irrigation.

I’ve read that mangoes might do well as we rarely have frost; does anyone have any experiences growing mangos in the fog? How about apricots, plums, nectarines or pluots?

I don't know what "outer sunset" means, but if you have fog, none of the stone fruits will work. You will get fruit, but stone fruits need lots of sun to sweeten up, so your fruit won't have much flavor.
You could try apples or pears, would that work?

I think mangos need a lot of heat to ripen... I doubt they will do well in the sunset. I am hesitant to try them even on the peninsula where we only get a little fog. I don't think stone fruit will do well either.
